Artwork by Abby Constable

We’re thrilled to showcase the remarkable work of talented artist Abby Constable, commissioned to create the captivating “Cracked Suzies” artwork featured on the mirrors in our Public Bar bathrooms.

Abby’s series, “Cracked Suzies,” is celebrated for its surreal characters that delve into the rawest and most relatable human emotions. Her art not only invites admiration but also encourages viewers to reflect on their own perceptions of emotion and beauty. Abby is also an Australian jazz drummer who is inspired by the likes of Elvin Jones, Frank Butler, Yussef Dayes, John Bonham and Art Blakey.

We collaborated with Abby to create the “Cracked Suzies” art installation at Jacksons on George before we launched in September 2023.  Thrilled with the evolution of her work, Constable commented, “The initial sketches for these designs were done in parks in Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, so these faces remind me of those beautiful moments, feelings of wonder, curiosity, fear and joy. The images can only be viewed properly when looked at straight on, so it’s pretty hard to capture a photo in the mirror. You’ll have to come see for yourself.”

Experience Abby’s work and the unique perspective it offers by visiting us at Jacksons on George.
