Events terms & conditions

To secure your reservation at Jacksons on George (or “Venue”), please complete and return the provided form, acknowledging your acceptance of the terms and conditions outlined below. These terms cover various aspects, including event specifics, cancellations and our deposit policy. We look forward to working together to make your event a success.

Deposit/confirmation of booking

To secure your event, please return the signed Event Contract to Jacksons on George via email within seven days. Jacksons on George requires a 50% deposit of the minimum spend within seven days of returning the signed Event Contract, the remaining balance is due 14 days before your event. Only at this time will your reservation be confirmed.

All events confirmed within 30 days of the event are to be paid in full. This can be settled by cash, credit card or direct transfer. Any deposit monies received shall be applied against the final account for the event on the date specified. If the agreed minimum spend is not met, the shortfall will be applied as a non-refundable room hire fee.

All outstanding balances including additional food and beverage consumption on the day must be finalised at the conclusion of the event by cash or credit card. We do not invoice post-event. Failure to make payment on time may result in the cancellation of the event.

Service charge

A service charge of 10% will be applied to all food and beverage for groups of 10 or more. This will be charged along with your final payment prior to the event.

Cancellation and confirmation

Once an event is confirmed, a change of date is treated as a cancellation. Alternative dates are subject to availability and pricing. This contract is non-transferable.

All food and beverage selections must be confirmed 14 days before the event and a final guest count confirmed 72 hours prior. If you increase your attendees after the cut off period, you will be charged per person based on the agreed food and beverage costs.

Any cancellations must be communicated in writing. A cancellation made within 30 days is eligible for a full refund of the deposited amount. We have a 50% cancellation fee up to 14 days before your event and a 100% cancellation fee within seven days of the event. Our cancellation fee is a conservative and genuine pre-estimate of our loss if you fail to keep your reservation.

Damage to the Venue

You agree and accept full responsibility for any damage to Jacksons on George, its surroundings, fittings and equipment caused by you, your guests, invitees, employees or contractors. Upon demand, you commit to paying Jacksons on George the entire costs associated with repairs, replacements or other financial loss (including direct, indirect and consequential loss) incurred by Jacksons on George as a result of such damage.

Noise levels

You may not use amplified audio equipment during the hire period without prior consent and then only in accordance with the terms of that consent. We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to alter the volume setting of the equipment at any time.

Licensing

On the Rooftop, last drinks are served at 11:30pm, with all alcoholic beverage service ceasing at midnight.

Right to exclude

We reserve the right to exercise, in our sole and absolute discretion, to exclude or eject any person or persons from Jacksons on George for any reason whatsoever without any liability for any loss or damage alleged to have arisen from such exclusion.

Liability and indemnity

You hereby agree to and do release Jacksons on George, its directors, employees, agents and contractors and any of our related or associated companies and their employees, agents and contractors to the full extent permitted by law from all claims and demands of any kind and from all liability which may arise in respect of any loss or damage to property or injury or illness to any person occurring or arising in or near the Venue during its hire by you, as a consequence of or from any act or omission whatsoever, except insofar as any such claims, demands or liability arising from negligence on the part of Jacksons on George, its employees, contractors or agents.

You hereby agree to and do indemnify and hold Jacksons on George and any of our related or associated companies, employees, agents and contractors harmless from and against liability for all actions, claims, demands, loss, damages, costs and expenses in respect of claims made by or liability asserted in respect of any damage to property of or injury to, any third person which may be suffered or sustained in, upon or near any part of the Venue during its hire by you except insofar as any such claims, demands or liability arising from negligence on the part of Jacksons on George, its employees, contractors or agents.

Force majeure

Jacksons on George will not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its control, such as natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or government regulations.

Filming and photography

By attending the event, you agree to be filmed or photographed which may be used for marketing or promotional purposes.

External service providers

You may only engage another person to provide services at Jacksons on George in connection with your event with our prior consent and providing that person holds insurance that is satisfactory to us. Our consent may be withheld at our absolute discretion.

Wet weather contingency

The existing canopy covers 100 guests. An additional marquee can be arranged subject to your final numbers.
